HomeMy WebLinkAbout6.1 "Dub Town Jam" Evaluation CITY OF DUBLIN YOUTH ADVISORY COMMITTEE AGENDA STATEMENT MEETING DATE: June 4, 1998 SUBJECT: "Dub Town Jam"Evaluation EXHIBITS ATTACHED: None RECOMMENDATION: Receive Report and Provide Input FINANCIAL STATEMENT: None DESCRIPTION: On Friday, May 29th the first teen concert sponsored by the City of Dublin, known as the "Dub Town Jam" was conducted. The event began at 6:00 p.m. with the DJ Dan Jarrett playing music and the Parks and Community Services Commission serving hot dogs. The band Tin Circus began playing at 6:30 p.m. at the same time Wild 94.9's Flava Unit arrived. In addition to the festivities City staff was collecting names and addresses while giving away Tower Records donations and Dublin Cinema was giving away posters, movie tickets and temporary tattoos. The event wound down at approximately 8:30 p.m. Based on the number of give away tickets that were completed, Staff estimates that approximately 300 teens were in attendance. Promotions included: Editorial article by the Valley Times and Tri-Valley Herald. An add placed by the Tri-Valley Herald. Screen Savers changed at DHS computer lab. Party size flyers placed on cars at Dublin High, Cal High, Amador and Foothill High Schools. Flyers handed out at DHS rally. Posters and flyers at DHS and Wells Middle School. Posters at local businesses and the mall. Lunchtime DJ and basketball contest at Wells Middle School. Announcements in Dublin High School and Wells Middle School bulletin.
