FINANCIAL STATEMENT: Total amount claimed is $253,000 for medical expenses
and alleged general damages .
DESCRIPTION Mr . David Lawrence Reuter has filed a claim on behalf
of his minor son , David Paul Reuter .
David Paul Reuter was enrolled in the City sponsored Summer Recreation
Program conducted at Nielsen School . While playing a game , he was knocked
down and fractured his left wrist . The claimant has alleged damages
amounting to $3, 000 in medical expenses and $250, 000 in general damages.
Staff has referred the claim to ABAG PLAN Corporation , the City ' s Insurance
Provider . The claim has also been reviewed by the claims investigation firm
of Black & Bland . They have recommended that the City formally deny the
claim .
Staff would recommend that the City Council deny the claim and direct Staff
to notify the claimant and the Insurance Provider .

14 David Lawrence Reuter, on behalf of his minor son,
15 David Paul Reuter, hereby makes a claim against the City of
16 Dublin, State of California, and makes the following state-
17 ments in support of this claim:
18 1. Claimant's address is 7329 Starward Drive , Dublin,
19 California 94568.
20 2. Notices concerning this claim should be sent to
21 John W. Larson, Attorney at Law, 1655 North Main Street,Walnut
22 Creek, California 94596.
23 3. The date and place of .the accident giving rise to
24 this claim are July 13, 1987 on the school grounds of Nielsen
25 School, 7500 Amarillo Road, Dublin, California 94568 at a
26 supervised summer recreation program of the City of Dublin.
27 4. The circumstances giving rise to this claim are
28 that claimant was knocked down by another child enrolled in

I the City's recreation program, and fell backwards. To
2 cushion the fall, David Paul Reuter put out his hands to
3 cushion the fall and fractured his left wrist.
4 5. Claimant's injuries are to his left wrist.
5 6 . Claimant's claim as of this date is for
6 $253,000.00. The basis of computation of this amount is
7 as follows :
