As a result of that meeting, staff was directed to investigate the logistics of lighting a tree at Shannon Park along with the associated costs. Staff has been in contact with the electrician who works on the park lights for the Dublin San Ramon Services District. He has indicated that there is sufficient power from the lights currently located on the bridge to light the oak tree in front of the Center. The- electrician also gave staff an estimate of the costs associated with the electrical work and the labor necessary to string the lights in the tree. The_ costs are broken down as follows: Lights $107 . 00 Electrician ( 4-5/hrs @ $45) $180 . 00-$225. 00 Driver ( 4-5/hrs @ $15) $60. 00-$75. 00 Truck w/lift $75 . 00 TOTAL COST $422 . 00-$482 . 00 Staff has also contacted Steve Loweree of MCE, the City' s Public Works Contractor, who has indicated that the estimate received by the electrician is reasonable. He also indicated that they (MCE) probably could not do it much cheaper as they would have to rent a truck and have electricians do the necessary electrical work. It is the recommendation of staff that the Council approve the Tree Lighting Ceremony at Shannon Park on Monday, December 8, 1986 . ----------------------------------------------------------------- ITEM NO. - 7 ;r5- Ne P4Ngsri ` 'i shtL77
