I was planning to attend tonight's City Council Hearing to publicly show my support, unfortunately due to unforeseen circumstances I may not be in attendance. Thank you so much for your help. Best Regards, Renata 1 Mayor David Haubert, Vice Mayor Abe Gupta, Council Member Kevin Hart, Don Biddle and Doreen Wehrenberg, I understand Jordan Ranch is on the City Council meeting Agenda this evening. Unfortunately, I'm not able to attend. However, I hope there is something you can do in support of the community in your position as Council Members. As you know the community does not support any more residential housing until we have the infrastructure to support them, including schools and parks. There are 8787 units planned for Dublin and over 5,000 of these units are vested and under developer agreement. Therefore, we are unable to make any changes, except for those units that are non-vested, including the proposed 150 units on Parcel A (neighborhood 7) and Parcel H in Jordan Ranch. As City governors you understand new homes are going up every day with ever-increasing new demand for public facilities in our city. We, as Jordan Ranch residents moved here because we were attracted by the great schools, convenient traffic conditions here and also large open space in front of us. However, in the past months, we faced the true reality-- Middle school overcrowding issue and lately we were informed of the change in our open space. We were happy to see that our school district finally came up with creative ways to solve the overcrowded middle school issue and a brand new K8 in Jordan Ranch was on DUSD's agenda. We also felt grateful when the news came that Dublin City Council unanimously approved to provide school district with free site for E5 in Jordan Ranch. However, recently we were also noticed that developers requested to get additional 150 units in JR vested by city, which means that more students will come before school is built and we will also lose a portion of our open space. How do we solve the overcrowded school issue by building more houses, especially • houses that Developer has no vested right to build? I think this greedy request from Developer should be thoroughly studied before any decisions can be made. As we all know, hasty decisions, especially bad decisions on important items like approving new development, can have significantly negative impact on local residents in the long run. As for Parcel A, the original school site, do we studied all the options for the use of the land, especially when the school district is facing severe land shortage for new middle&high schools? Do we need more homes than schools in current situation? Can we show strong proof that we are able to accommodate all of the students that will come with the thousands of new homes already approved (vested) before we approve the unvested units? We are quickly losing the quality of our lives in Dublin and hope as governors you can, within the scope of your position, do something to change this course. We need the city of Dublin to grow and develop as one united front and modify its long-term strategic vision to address smart infrastructural, and sustainable growth providing the necessary amenities. So in Tonight's meeting, please: 1.Support to build the new K8 anyway and prove that our school district is responsible and has the capability to provide quality education for Dublin kids. 2.Don't rush to vote / make hasty decisions on any new development before all the possible options of the use of the unvested land have been comprehensively studied. Furthermore, traffic is becoming a major issue in Dublin -adding more housing will make the issue much worse. LET US KEEP DUBLIN ATTRACTIVE, LET US KEEP THE REPUTATION AND VALUE OF DUBLIN HIGH. Bella Chang Dublin,CA 2015-09-06 Dublin City, Please we don't need more houses here. People need room to breathe. Keeping this vacant land as an open space is the right thing to do! Thomas Mary Dublin,CA 2015-09-06 I totally agree with this petition. It is meaningless to put on more homes here if you cannot provide them basic facilities.Current Jordan Ranch residents don't have a neighborhood park. This is a great loss for them since a neighborhood park performs numerous functions and provide numerous benefits. Amy Lee Dublin,CA 2015-09-06 We Can Not Support Any More Residential Housing in Dublin! Deana Lum Fresno,CA 2015-09-06 I'm signing because my family lives in Jordan Ranch and bought with the understanding that the land in front of Jordan Ranch Drive was a preserve and would not be built on. Additionally, there is already too much traffic in the east Dublin area, and as stated no parks as promised. Ramya Sendhil Dublin,CA 2015-09-06 To preserve the wild life Jason Bethel Dublin,CA 2015-09-06 I am signing the petition, because The Fallon corridor is already becoming over crowded and resources are already thin. There are not enough schools as it is in the area to support anymore growth and the should be priority one.The builder promised a lot of people that nothing would be built in front of them on Jordan Ranch Road and obstructs the views of the Valley of a lot of people. Furthermore, the impact on the wildlife preserve would force a lot of small animals into our neighborhoods causing several headaches that resident should not have to endure at hands of greed by this wonderful city. I moved here, because Dublin was the"anti"San Jose.We are seeing the effects of what overcrowding is doing to San Jose.Dublin, PLEASE don't make that same mistake! Name Location Date Comment Prasad RL Dublin,CA 2015-09-06 I'm signing because housing development in this area has already reduced the habitat for wildlife significantly in the last decade, inspite of all mitigation measures that are in place since 1993.The only small parcel of land remaining near Jordan ranch dr includes the mixed use land area. Using this area for more construction will result in further loss of habitat especially for San Joaquin kit fox(listed as an endangered specie by U.S Fish and Wildlife)and many bird species that depend on it. Please stop any further loss of habitat. Elizabeth St John Dublin,CA 2015-09-06 This directly affects me. I have seen foxes, deer, birds and hares in this area. Additional development along the edge of the open space will further impinge on the wildlife and put a further strain on the local ecosystem. Especially given the fact that this development area immediately borders a pond. Danjue Li Dublin,CA 2015-09-06 I am signing because building more new houses without proper planning for school resources will negatively impact the quality of education and the neighborhood Shiva Shastri Dublin,CA 2015-09-08 I live in the area and agree with the position taken Niten Luthra San Ramon,CA 2015-09-08 I completely agree with the rationale for this petition and oppose the City of Dublin's plans Pallavi Khanna Dublin,CA 2015-09-09 I believe we need the current open space to remain open for several reasons. Anithajeyaselvi Dublin,CA 2015-09-09 We as dublin residents need room to breath and this expansion will add even krishnasamy more congestion to our area. Liching Su Dublin,CA 2015-09-10 too many houses in East dublin once it all build out.Traffic is also horrible when only one 580 in dublin. Ashita Kulkarni Dublin,CA 2015-09-10 I am signing this petition because we don't have enough water to support these construction and then later people who would be staying in those homes. We don't have good roads(1 lane we have right now),which will make it impossible for us to drive and go.Schools can't hold so many kids.Quality of education will reduce. Please consider Mother Earth too,we need more green space so that when it rains ground water level can be restored which is horrible state right now.. Money is not everything.Think about our next generation who would suffer because of YOU Jianhui Chen tj34M, CA 2015-09-11 I'm signing this petition because there are already too many houses while clearly not enough supporting facilities in east Dublin. Tonight I beg you not to consider this Land Swap project at Jordan Ranch until you study other possibilities. If you approve it. You would need to redirect most of the bond money away from other schools is was meant to be used for-- including Dublin High. DHS was starting to get crowded when I was there...I now heard from my 18 year old sister that it is even worse- door to door with parking her senior year it took her about 50 minutes to get to class. And that was in 2015! Tonight, before making your decision, please keep the high school situation your priority as it is the ONE SHINING LANDMARK that ALL OF DUBLIN students share. My youngest sister will be the graduating class of 2021 and I hear that the demographic projections for her school size at DHS are at 4000 students. I can not even image that to be safe...yet alone fun. I hope the board has an idea in mind for the high school before they approve any projects tonight. Don't let my alma mater's reputation go down hill! Thank you for reading this in public comments, Camille Chabot- a very proud Dublin High graduate and former Youth Citizen of the Year.
