SUBJECT: Recognition and Acceptance of Gifts from the Sponsors of the Live Healthy
Dublin "ACTIV-8 Fitness Challenge"

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
The City Council will formally accept the monetary donations and present Certificates of
Recognition to the sponsors of the Live Healthy Dublin "ACTIV-8 Fitness Challenge."
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The City received $2,700 in monetary sponsorships.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that the City Council recognize the sponsors and formally accept the
contributions.

DESCRIPTION:
The City of Dublin Parks and Community Services Department invited the public to participate in
a community-wide event to motivate, educate and empower residents to achieve optimal health
through a customized wellness challenge. The "ACTIV-8 Fitness Challenge" teamed up co-
workers, family, and friends to get active, lose weight, eat better, and live a healthier lifestyle.
The eight-week Challenge ran from March 15 through May 9, 2015. Thirty seven teams
registered for the Challenge, with 143 individuals participating. A total of 7,384 minutes of
activity time were recorded by participants.
Kaiser Permanente and Sports Authority generously provided monetary sponsorships to support
the "ACTIV-8 Fitness Challenge." These donations assisted the Parks and Community Services
Department in augmenting the services provided to the community by enhancing community
events, maintaining affordable participation fees, and providing giveaways.

Kaiser Permanente $2,450
Sports Authority $ 250
TOTAL MONETARY CONTRIBUTIONS $2,700
In recognition of the contributions, these sponsors and organizations will be presented with
Certificates of Appreciation for supporting the Live Healthy Dublin "ACTIV-8 Fitness Challenge."
NOTICING REQUIREMENTS/PUBLIC OUTREACH:
The sponsor were notified and invited to attend the City Council meeting.
