SUBJECT: Consideration of Friendship City Memorandum of Understanding with Jiangmen
City of the People's Republic of China

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
The City Council will consider a memorandum of understanding between the City of Dublin and
Jiangmen City of the People's Republic of China.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
None.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends the City Council consider the Friendship City Memorandum of Understanding
with Jiangmen City of the People's Republic of China and provide Staff with direction.

DESCRIPTION:
At the request of Mayor Haubert, Staff has prepared this report and added it to the City
Council's meeting agenda for the City Council's discussion and consideration. Attachment 1 to
the report is a potential memorandum of understanding by and between the City of Dublin and
Jiangmen City of the People's Republic of China.

MEMORANDUM
ON FURTHER PROMOTING FRIENDLY EXCHANGES
BETWEEN
THE CITY OF DUBLIN, CALIFORNIA,U.S.A.
AND
THE CITY OF HANGMEN, GUANGDONG PROVINCE,
P.R.C.
The city of Dublin, California, U.S.A. and the city of Jiangmen, Guangdong Province, P.R.C., wishing to
enhance mutual understanding and friendshipbetween the two cities,hereby agree to further promote friendly
exchanges.
The two cities hereby will carry out, in accordance with the principles of equality and mutual benefit, exchanges
and cooperation in the fields of:
1. High-technology and Innovation industry;
2. Economy and trade;
3. Culture;
4. Education;
5. Tourism; and
6. Any other areas of mutual interests.
This memorandum is executed in two counterparts in both the Chinese and English languages, each of which
shall have the same force.
