EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
The City Council will recognize businesses that have been in Dublin 10, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45
and 50 years, and businesses that have recently attained Silver and Green levels in the Green
Shamrock Program.

None.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that the City Council recognize businesses that have been in Dublin 10, 20,
25, 30, 35, 40, 45, and 50 years, and businesses that have recently attained Silver and Green
levels in the Green Shamrock Program.

DESCRIPTION:
Business Anniversary Awards
On May 1, 2007, the City Council adopted a Business Recognition Program. This effort includes
a Business Anniversary Program to recognize the significant milestone anniversaries in our
community. The Anniversary Program acknowledges businesses that have been in Dublin for
10, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, and 50 years at a City Council meeting. Businesses that have been
in business for 10 years will be receiving a Certificate of Recognition in the mail.
Tonight, the City recognizes one business celebrating 50 years, two businesses celebrating 45
years, three businesses celebrating 40 years, eight businesses celebrating 35 years, six
businesses celebrating 30 years, 13 businesses celebrating 25 years, eight businesses

celebrating 20 years, and 56 businesses celebrating 10 years. Additional businesses celebrating
anniversaries of continuous operation in Dublin will be recognized at a City Council meeting in
November.
In addition, as part of Staff's research five additional businesses deserving anniversary
recognition in the past were identified. Staff recommends the City Council also recognize the
following businesses:
• Childrens Emergency Food Bank— 45 years (2014)
• Dublin Carpet, Inc. — 30 years (2014)
• Smog Station — 30 years (2014)
• K. V. Schneider Construction — 25 years (2012) & 20 years (2007)
• Amarant Design & Build — 20 years (2012)
All businesses being recognized tonight with Business Anniversary Awards are included in
Attachment 1.
Green Shamrock Program
In October 2014, the City of Dublin launched a new green business program. The Green
Shamrock Program helps guide businesses to save money by implementing conservation in
their day-to-day business practices and to reduce energy, waste and water consumption. Under
this program, selected businesses are recognized by the City Council for their efforts on
environmental sustainability.
There are three program levels: Bronze, Silver and Green. Businesses that attain Silver or
Green levels in the Green Shamrock Program receive Council recognition. To date, there are
17 Dublin Green Shamrock businesses. Tonight, four businesses will receive recognition for
attaining Silver level, and eight businesses will be recognized for attaining Green Level.
