SUBJECT: Appointments to the Standing City Council Economic Deve opment Committee

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
The City Council will consider the Mayor's appointments to the Standing City Council Economic
Development Committee.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
None.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that the City Council accept the Mayor's appointments of Mayor Haubert and
Vice Mayor Gupta to the Standing City Council Economic Development Committee.
DESCRIPTION:
On June 19, 2012, the City Council adopted Resolution 121-12, which established a Standing
City Council Economic Development Committee. Two members of the City Council serve on
the Committee and the following is a summary of the Committee's purpose, purview and role.
The purpose of this standing Committee is to provide information and updates on activities,
programs and services relating to the City's economic development efforts. The standing
Economic Development Committee provides policy guidance and direction to Staff and serves
as a recommendation body to the entire City Council. The Committee meets every other month
and is subject to the Brown Act. Economic Development staff provides primary responsibility for
meetings and coordination of the Committee.
Mayor Haubert recommends the appointment of himself and Vice Mayor Gupta to serve on the
Committee.
