FINANCIAL STATEMENT:
Select Vice Mayor

DESCRIPTION: Since 1996, the City Council's policy has been to select in December
of each year, a member of the City Council to serve as Vice Mayor for a period of one year. In the
absence of the Mayor, the Vice Mayor becomes Mayor Pro Tempore and assumes the temporary
responsibilities of the Mayor.
Staff recommends that the City Council determine who shall serve as Vice Mayor for a one-year period.
