2004 Capital Projects

FINANCIAL STATEMENT: The City will incur a $25.00 fee to file the Notice of Exemption with
Alameda County
DESCRIPTION: City Capital Improvement Program (CF) projects, as projects under
CEQA, must be reviewed for environmental impacts as part of the project process. Traditionally, those
projects that fall under the Categorically Exempt environmental status are processed by Staff and have not
been be acted on by the City COuncil.
This year, Staff felt it prudent to request that the City Council take official action on the Categorical
Exemption status So that the public can be given the opportunity to review and comment on the
environmental impacts of these projects.
Once Council has apProved the Notice of Exemption and Staff has filed the Notice with Alameda County,
the public and other agencies are allowed thirty (30) days to file legal action regarding the designation.
Staff has analyzed the environmental status, under CEQA, for the attached list of projects and
recommends that the City Council find these projects Categorically Exempt under CEQA.
