Foss, Acting City Manager SUBJECT: Recognition of Discovery Builders for Recreation Fee Assistance Program Donation Prepared by Rhonda Franklin, Administrative Analyst I EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: The Parks and Community Services Department Recreation Fee Assistance Program received a generous $2,500 donation from Discovery Builders in conjunction with the opening of Schaefer Ranch Park. The Dublin City Council will formally accept the donation and recognize the donor. FINANCIAL IMPACT: The donation received will be added to the Recreation Fee Assistance Program budget. RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends the City Council formerly accept the donation of $2,500 for the Recreation Fee Assistance Program and formerly recognize the donor, Discovery Builders. Submitted By Reviewed By Director of Parks and Acting Assistant City Manager Community Services DESCRIPTION: In November 2013, the Parks and Community Services Department received a donation of $2,500 for the Recreation Fee Assistance Program from Discovery Builders, Inc. The owner of Discovery Builders, Mr. Albert Seeno, III, provided the donation to support this important community program and to celebrate the opening of Schaefer Ranch Park, which was constructed by Discovery Builders. ITEM NO. 3.3 Page 1 of 2 The Recreation Fee Assistance Program provides eligible Dublin residents financial assistance to participate in City-sponsored recreation programs. Eligibility for the program is based on specific household income level requirements. On an annual basis, between 25 and 50 residents benefit from this Program, depending on private funding received. The City matches up to $5,000 per year in funding toward the program as well. NOTICING REQUIREMENTS/PUBLIC OUTREACH: Discovery Builders has been invited to attend the City Council meeting.
