As part of the Citizens/Organization of the Year process, an Ad-Hoc Committee comprised of two City Councilmembers is needed to perform the following duties: ITEM NO. 8.3 Page 1 of 2  Arrange for impartial judging of nominees and selection of winners.  Coordinate arrangements with the Lion’s Club and Parks and Community Services Department regarding the logistics for winners to participate in the 2013 St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Celebration. Last Year, Councilmembers Hart and Haubert served on the Committee. At its November 6, 2012 meeting, the City Council directed Staff to return with information regarding the decision process for determining the Recognition Event date. The recurring date of the event, “the Friday after the second Council meeting in February” was agreed upon by the City Council at its July 18, 2006 meeting. At its November 20, 2012 meeting, the City Council considered an alternate date of Wednesday, February 20, 2013 due to scheduling conflicts with other City Councilmember commitments, and agreed that the possibility of a new date can be discussed as the recurring date continues to conflict with other City Councilmember commitments. A calendar of City Council events for February and March, 2014, is attached as reference to consider alternate dates for 2014. NOTICING REQUIREMENTS/PUBLIC OUTREACH: None. ATTACHMENTS: 1.
