SUBJECT: Acceptance of Gifts to City from the Sponsors of the 2013 "Live Healthy Dublin:
10-Week Wellness Challenge"

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
The City Council will formally accept the monetary donations and present Certificates of
Recognition to the sponsors and supporters of the 2013 "Live Healthy Dublin: 10-Week
Wellness Challenge."
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The City received $12,150 in monetary sponsorships and also received support from in-kind
donations of goods and services.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends the City Council recognize the sponsors and formally accept the
contributions.

DESCRIPTION:
The inaugural "Live Healthy Dublin: 10-Week Wellness Challenge" took place from March 17 to
May 25, 2013, with 486 registrants participating in the Challenge. The celebratory closing
ceremony was held on Thursday, May 30, at the Dublin Farmers' Market where trophies and
other prizes were awarded to teams that ranked at the top of various activity categories.
Several local businesses generously provided monetary and in-kind sponsorships that
supported the 10-week program and closing ceremony. Due to the monetary sponsorships, the
program participation fee charged by Live Healthy America was able to be reduced from $20 to
just $5 for the first 400 registrants.
