HomeMy WebLinkAbout3.3 Accept Gifts Comm Svcs Events \� „/� STAFF REPORT CITY CLERK �rrotes CITY COUNCIL File #150-70 DATE: August 20, 2013 TO: Honorable Mayor and City Councilmembers FROM: Joni Pattillo, City Manager(JZ.., r o SUBJECT: Acceptance of Gifts for Parks and Community Services Programs and Events Prepared by Micki Cronin, Assistant Director of Parks and Community Services EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: The City Council will receive a report on miscellaneous donations made during Fiscal Year 2012-2013 from individuals, businesses, and local non-profit organizations to support Parks and Community Services programs and community events. FINANCIAL IMPACT: The Parks and Community Services Department received $1,140 in miscellaneous monetary donations as well as in-kind donations. RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends that the City Council accept the gifts and direct Staff to prepare a formal acknowledgement to the various sponsors. i �r �h Submitted B Reviewed By Director of Park- and Assistant City Manager Community Services DESCRIPTION: Parks and Community Services Department Staff actively seek monetary and in-kind donations for a variety of programs and events. These donations assist the Department in augmenting the services provided to the community, enhancing community events, and maintaining affordable participation fees. This report provides details about the miscellaneous donations received during Fiscal Year 2012-2013. Dublin Community Car Show The City received four monetary donations from local businesses in support of the Community Car Show. The donations were as follows: Page 1 of 2 ITEM NO. 3.3 Dublin Napa Auto Parts $250 Tri-Valley Classics $250 Quality Tune Ups $70 All Smogs $70 Spring Eggstravaganza The City received monetary and in-kind donation in support of the Spring Eggstravaganza. The donations were as follows: Adam Golden Realtor $500 Pape Machinery In-Kind NOTICING REQUIREMENTS/PUBLIC OUTREACH: The sponsors and supporters were notified and invited to attend the City Council meeting.
