YOUTH ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEETING
MINUTES OF Wednesday, April 24, 2013
CALL TO ORDER
The April 24, 2013 meeting of the Youth Advisory Committee was called to order at 7:08 PM at the
Shannon Community Center by Chairperson Sung.

Pledge of Allegiance was led by Chairperson Sung.

MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING-March 27, 2013
ON A MOTION BY CM BRUNCKHORST, SECONDED BY CM RASTOGI AND BY VOTE OF 5-0-7, THE YOUTH
ADVISORY COMMITTEE VOTED TO APPROVE THE MINUTES OF MARCH 27, 2013 AS PRESENTED.
SEVEN COMMITTEE MEMBERS ABSTAINED DUE TO THEIR ABSENCE DURING THE MARCH 27, 2013
MEETING.

NEW BUSINESS
Youth Advisory Committee and Student Representative to the Parks and Community Services
Commission Applications for the 2013-2014 Term.
Youth Advisory Committee Members were reminded that the deadline for applications for the 2013-
2014 Youth Advisory Committee and Student Representative to the Parks and Community Services
Commission is Friday, April 30, 2013 at 5:00 PM. Incomplete applications will not be accepted.
Applications can be turned in at the Parks and Community Services Department office located at City
Hall, 100 Civic Plaza, Dublin.
Youth Advisory Committee 2012-2013 Annual Report
One of the responsibilities of the Youth Advisory Committee is to prepare an annual report on the
accomplishments of the Youth Advisory Committee during the term. Youth Advisory Committee
Members are asked to create a presentation highlighting the Committee's accomplishments. Youth
Advisory Committee Members Sung, Castro, Wang and Rastogi volunteered to create a presentation to
present to the Parks and Community Services Commission at the regular meeting of May 20, 2013, and
to the City Council at the regula, eeting of May 21, 2013.
Community Car Show Subcommittee Report
The Third Annual Dublin Community Car Show took place at the Heritage Park and Museums on April 20,
2013. Youth Advisory Committee Subcommittee Members Brunckhorst and Sung volunteered at the car
show. Over 135 cars were on display with over 400 persons in attendance throughout the show, and the
weather was wonderful. Music for the event was provided by a Steve Fox from KKIQ Radio station and
four food trucks provided a variety of food for event participants.
Youth Mini Grant Program Subcommittee Report
Youth Advisory Committee Subcommittee Members reported that the selection process for the Youth
Mini Grant Program was completed with five youth organizations receiving grant funds. For next year's
program, the Subcommittee suggested advertising directly to the leadership classes at Dublin High
School. Youth Advisory Committee Members along with Staff could provide presentations promoting the
Youth Mini Grant Program to the leadership classes at Dublin High School and also at Wells Middle and
Fallon Middle Schools' government or leadership classes.
OTHER BUSINESS
Shari Jackman, City Staff Member who coordinates the weekly Farmers Market at Emerald Glen Park,
provided information to the Youth Advisory Committee regarding participating in the Dublin Idol event
as a youth judge. Ms. Jackman provided her contact information and encouraged Youth Advisory
Committee Members to contact her if they are interested.
Adult Member Ashley Wolfe provided information on the Tri-Valley Arthritis Walk in Livermore being
held on May 4, 2013. Ms. Wolfe stated that Youth Advisory Committee Members could contact her for
more information.
ADJOURNMENT
Being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 9:05 PM by Chairperson Sung.
