CALL TO ORDER
The February 22, 2012 meeting of the Youth Advisory Committee was called to order at 7:07 p.m. by
Chairperson Vasquez.

MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING -January 25, 2012
ON A MOTION BY CM SUNG SECONDED BY CM CASTRO AND BY VOTE OF 9-0-0, THE
ADVISORY COMMITTEE VOTED TO APPROVE THE MINUTES OF JANUARY 25, 2012 AS
PRESENTED.

Teen Special Events
Staff member Siu updated the Youth Advisory Committee on the teen special events for the remainder of
the school year. Staff advised the Youth Advisory Committee that this year's arulual Teen Job Fair will be
held on Saturday, March 24, 2012 from 1-4 p.m. at the Dublin Senior Center. Admission to the event as
well as beverages and pizza are free. Teens can meet employers, apply for jobs, and participate in mock
interviews and obtain feedback from the interviewer.
Staff Member Siu also shared that the City of Dublin All American Car Show is scheduled for Saturday,
April 21 from 11:00 a.in. to 3:00 p.m. at the Dublin Heritage Park & Museums, Proceeds will benefit the
Youth Fee Assistance program and the Dublin Senior Foundation. Staff discussed the Summer Kick Off
concert and Teen Band Night. The Committee discussed logistical information regarding teen band night,
and the type of music that will be performed at the event.
The Committee also discussed utilizing the Dublin High School marquee to advertise the teen events
sponsored by the City as well as using the Dublin High School video bulletin to advertise events.
Chairperson Vasquez will contact the school and obtain information on how this can be accomplished.
Youth Fee Assistance Fundraising-, Teen Special Events, and Texting and Driving Educational
Campaign Subcommittee Reports
CM Vasquez shared that she visited "Rockin Jump" to discuss a possible fund raising event benefitting .
the Youth Fee Assistance program at their facility but the manager wasn't available to meet with her. She
rescheduled an appointment for a later date to discuss a possible fundraising event at their facility.
The Texting and Driving Subcommittee's January meeting was cancelled. The Special Events
Subcommittee met and Committee Members signed up to volunteer at the Youth Advisory Committee '
fundraising booth at the St. Patrick's Day Festival.
