CALL TO ORDER
The January 25, 2012 of the Youth Advisory Committee was called to order at 7:01 p.m. by Chairperson
Vasquez.

MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING -December 7, 2011
ON A MOTION BY CM SUNG SECONDED BY CM CASTRO AND BY VOTE OF 13-0-0, THE
AllVISORY COMMITTEE VOTED TO APPROVE THE MINUTES OF DECEMBER 7, 2011 AS
PRESENTED.

NEW B USINESS
_Youtlz Fee Assistance Fundraising, Teen Special Events, and Texting and Driving Educational
Campaign Subcommittee Reports
Chairperson Vasquez advised that the December 2011 meeting of the No Texting and Driving
Educational Campaign Subcommittee was cancelled. The next meeting of the Subcommittee is scheduled
to be held sometime in January 2012, date yet to be determined.
Staff Member Siu reported that the Teen Special Events Subcommittee has made contact with potential
bands for the Battle of the Bands event scheduled for Friday, March 2, 2012. Marketing material and
flyers for the event are on schedule to be complete and ready to distribute the second week of February.
Staff Member Siu stated to the Youth Advisory Committee Members that the Subcommittee for Dublin's
All American Car Show which is scheduled for Saturday, April 21, 2012 met on January 17, 2012. The
discussion at the meeting included an update on the planning of the event and discussing the role of the
Senior Advisory Committee and the Senior Foundation in the event.
Chairperson Vasquez of the Youth Fee Assistance Fund Subcommittee reported that they have
brainstormed different fund raising opportunities including playing a "Spinning Wheel" game at the All
America Car Show and the St. Patrick's Festival. The Subcommittee is scheduled to meet again the first
week of February to discuss these ideas in detail.
Fall 2011 Teen Quarterly Report
Staff member Luna presented the Teen. Quarterly Report as outlined in Agenda Item 7.2. No questions or
comments were made from the Youth Advisory Committee regarding the Teen Quarterly report as
presented by Staff.
OTHER B USINESS
Staff Member Siu reported that the Pleasanton Drama and Improv team, Creature of Impulse agreed to
collaborate with the Youth Advisory Committee on hosting a comedy night in June. Staff Member Siu
will finalize a date and report at the ne:~t scheduled Youth Advisory Committee meeting.
ADJOURNMENT
Being no fiirther business, the meeting was adjourned at 7:41 p.m. by Chairperson Vasquez.
