On-Ramp South of Dublin Boulevard

FINANCIAL STATEMENT:
No cost to City for installation. There will be a minor cost for
maintenance upkeep of red curb at a later date.
DESCRIPTION: The new on-ramp from Village Parkway to 1-680 is expected to
open within the next several weeks. It will be necessary to prohibit parking adjacent to the ramp for
safety purposes and because striping the new let~ turn lane for the ramp will require shifting the through
lanes over into the area that is currently available for parking.
The City's traffic code currently contains 200' of no parking zone on both sides of Village Parkway south
of Dublin Boulevard. It is recommended that this be extended on Village Parkway to a total length of 560
feet on the west side and 480 feet on the east side, which encompasses the ramp area, and 230 feet beyond
it (see location map, Attachment 2).
Notification of this proposed No Parking area was distributed to adjacent businesses. Staff has received at
least one telephone call from a person who works in the area objecting to the No Parking Zone.
The cost of installing red curb will be paid through the interchange project. Staff recommends that the
City Council conduct a public hearing, deliberate, and adopt the resolution establishing the No Parking
Zone.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CI~ COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF DUBLIN
APPROVING NO PARKING ZONE ON VILLAGE PARKWAY
SOUTH OF DUBLIN BOULEVARD
The City Council of the City of Dublin hereby resolves as follows:
Section 1: Pursuant to City of Dublin Municipal Code Section 6.04.250, and in the interest of
public safety, parking is prohibited on the easterly curbline of Village Parkway, southerly of the Dublin
Boulevard curb return a distance of 480 feet, and on the westerly curbline of Village Parkway southerly
of the Dublin Boulevard curb return a distance of 56O feet.
Section 2. Said No Parking ZOne shall be added to Section 6.28.010 of the City of Dublin Traffic
Code.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 18th day of January, 2000.
