SUBJECT: No Parking Zone at the East Inner-Corner of Aspen Street and
Persimmon Drive

RECOMMEN~Ar,,TION: Adopt Resolution Approving a 50-Foot No Parking Zone at the

FINANCIAL STATEMENT: Sufficient funds are budgeted in the Street Maintenance Operating
Budget to cover the minor cost of approximately 50 feet of red curb.
DESCRIPTION: A request was recently received from the Dublin Police Department
to prohibit on-street parking on the east curb-return of Aspen Street and Persimmon Drive, adjacent to
4762 Persimmon Drive. Vehicles parked on this corner block the sight line of northbound traffic, which
forces drivers to cross over the existing centerline, thus creating an unsafe traffic condition.
Based on a field review by City Staff, it was determined that this problem can be eliminated by installing
a 50-foot red-curbed No Parking Zone on the corner of Aspen Street and Persimmon Drive (Attachment
2). Sufficient parking space would remain on Aspen Street and Persimmon Drive. The adjacent property
owner was notified and has concurred with the new proposed No Parking Zone.
Staff recommends that the City Council adopt the resolution approving a 50-foot No Parking Zone at the
corner of Aspen Street and Persimmon Drive.

RESOLUTION NO. - 03
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF DUBLIN
APPROVING NO PARKING ZONE AROUND THE INNER CORNER
OF ASPEN STREET AND PERSIMMON DRIVE
The City Council of the City of Dublin hereby resolves as follows:
Section 1: Pursuant to City of Dublin Municipal Code Section 6.04.250, and in the interest of
public safety, parking is prohibited on the easterly curbline of Aspen Street, from a point 830feet of the
northerly curbline of Summer Glen Drive, north a distance of SO feet (inner corner of Aspen Street and
Persimmon Drive).
Section 2. Said No Parking Zone shall be added to Section 6.28.010 of the City of Dublin
Traffic Code.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 4th day of March, 2003.
