Thompson, Public I4/orks Director ATTACHMENTS: None RECOMMENDATION: Accept BART presentation FINANCIAL STA~NT: No financial impact to the City DESCRIPTION: At its meeting on December 10, 2002, the 1-580 Corridor/BART to Livermore Policy Advisory Committee directed BART staff to evaluate several new transit concepts in addition to the "BART to Livermore in the 1-58© Median Alternative". This Phase 2 study will further define rail and bus options for a rapid transit network in the Th-Valley area that could provide an alternative to freeway congestion. The service area being investigated extends from the Dublin/Pleasanton BART station east to Livermore and over the Altamont Pass, with potential linkages to Contra Costa County. to the north via the 1-680 corridor. BART staff will present to the Council the different preliminary alternatives being studied. It is recommended that the City Council accept BART's presentation and provide comments.
