FINANCIAL STATEMENT:
Sufficient funds are budgeted in the Street Maintenance Operating
Budget to cover the minor cost of 60 feet of red curb.
DESCRIPTION: The City's Public Works Department has recently received a citizen
request to prohibit on-street parking on the north side of Amador Valley Boulevard west of the Iron Horse
Trail. The concern is that the parked vehicles, which appear to belong to trail users, block the drivers who
are attempting to make U-turns from eastbound to westbound Amador Valley Boulevard, as shown on the
location map, Attachment 2.
Based on field review by City Staff, it was determined that this problem can be eliminated by installing a
sixty-foot red curb zone on the north side of Amador Valley Boulevard, as indicated on the attached map.
Sixty feet of curb space will typically provide parking for up to three vehicles. Sufficient parking space
would remain available on Amador Valley Boulevard despite the proposed No Parking zone.
The proposed red curb is located adjacem to a residemial sound wall and is not expected to generate
concerns by area residents. Staff recommends that the City Council adopt the resolution approving the
No Parking zone.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF DUBLIN
APPROVING NO PARKING ZONE ON NORTH SIDE OF
AMADOR VALLEY BOULEVARD WEST OF IRON HORSE TRAIL
The City Council of the City of Dublin hereby resolves as follows:
Section 1: Pursuant to City of Dublin Municipal Code Section 6.04.250, and in the interest of
public safety, parking is prohibited on the northerly curbline of Amador Valley Boulevard fi'om a point
540feet of the easterly curbline of Brighton Drive, east a distance of 6O feet.
Section 2. Said No Parking Zone shall be added to Section 6.28,010 of the City of Dublin Traffic
Code.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 5st day of September, 2000.
