FINANCIAL STATEMENT: None
DESCRIPTION: The consultant received approval at the .May 5~h Council Meeting on
the design refinements made in response to direction from the March 21st meeting. The changes to the
drawings incorporated the prior comments to "soften" the building, open up the comers to reduce the scale of
the central entry area and to keep the shape as a rotunda. Based on this approval the consultant began the
Design Development drawings. The Design Development drawings are considered the first stage of the
construction documents and represent approximately 30% of the final package.
The consultant has provided plan sets for review to the City departments and has received comments. The
consultant has also presented the Design Development package to the Library Review Committee.
Further the package includes recommendations for exterior and interior finishes as well as an updated cost
estimate.
The consultant will present a synopsis of the plans, the finishes for the building, the updated cost estimate
and current schedule status.
It is the recommendation of Staff that the City Council take the following action;
1 'Receive presentation from the Consultant
2 Receive public comment
3 Approve Library Design Development
