CULTURAL ARTS CLASSES: Cultural arts classes are intended to serve customers of all ages and cover a wide range of arts activities such as theatre and dance camps/classes, classes in singing, guitar, dance exercise and movement, drawing, painting, children's art education and others. Cultural arts classes provide an opportunity for participants to attempt new experiences, advance current artistic skills, as well as provide a social setting for meeting new people and sharing cultural arts experiences with friends and family members. Arts classes are taught by contracted specialty instructors. A majority of classes are taught in eight-week sessions but some are more or less than eight weeks and others are offered as one-time workshops. A total of 476 participants registered for Cultural Arts Classes during summer 2011, which was an increase of 29% over summer 2010. The cancellation rate for classes was 3% higher than in 2010 but the average registration per class increased from last year from 8.22 to 10.82 participants per class.
