In honor of Challenge Butter's 100th Year Anniversary, the City Council will present a
proclamation declaring June 11, 2011 as Challenge Butter Day.

WHERF.~LS, Challenge Butter has been a vital part of California for ioo years and is a vibrant and substantial part of
Dublin's economy; and ~
WHEREA.S, Challenge Butter represents 45o California dairy farmers and plays an important role in dairy being
California's number one agricultural commodity; and
WHEI~F.A S', Challenge Butter has grown to be the largest butter brand in the west, Challenge Butter; and
WHEI~EAS, Challenge Butter has contributed to the well-being of our citizens by producing and distributing products
of the highest quality through its position as the leading dairy foodservice provider in the state; and
WHEREAS, Challenge Butter pioneered in the dairy industry with product and manufacturing innovations such as the
aluminum butter churn, the first successful metal butter churn in the world.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that we, the Dublin City Council, do hereby proclaim June ii, 2oii as
