FINANCIAL STATEMENT: See details in description below. Staff has included the proposed
increase when determining the operating budget for the Civic Center.
The increase, if approved, would take effect for the 2000-2001 fiscal
year.
DESCRIPTION: The City has contracted with Tri-Valley Janitorial Service for City
facilities janitorial service since 1993. The current agreement is a five-year agreement which expires in
2001. One interim rate adjustment was approved beginning with the 1998-99 fiscal year. The expansion of
the Civic Center has increased the maintainable square footage.
Tri-Valley Janitorial has requested an increase of $293 per month, or a total of $3,516 per year, to provide
janitorial coverage for the additional space. This increases the monthly rate for the Civic Center to
$3,321.20. This is an increase of 9.7%, which is commensurate with the increase in square footage. The
annual cost for the Civic Center is therefore $39,854.40, and the overall annual total for this contract is
$92,186.40. The rates for service at the other facilities remains the same. Tri-Valley continues to provide
excellent service to the City, and Staff feels that the requested increase is reasonable.
Staff recommends that the City Council adopt the resolution approving the amendment to the agreement.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF DUBLIN
APPROVING AMENDMENT TO AGREEMENT
WITH TRI-VALLEY JANITORIAL SERVICE
FOR CITY FACILITIES JANITORIAL SERVICES
WHEREAS, the City has a current agreement with Tri-Valley Janitorial Service dated July 1,
1996; and
WHEREAS, the agreement was amended effective July 1, 1998, for an adjustment of rates; and
WHEREAS, the Civic Center Expansion Project has increased the maintainable square footage of
the Civic Center building; and
WHEREAS, Tri-Valley Janitorial Service is requesting an increase in monthly rate to provide
service to the additional space; and
WHEREAS, the City feels said increase is reasonable for the scope of work to be performed;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Dublin approves
the amendment to the agreement attached hereto as Exhibit "A".
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor is authorized to execute the amendment.

AMENDMENT TO AGREEMENT WITH

FOR CITY FACILITIES JANITORIAL SERVICES
WHEREAS, the City and Tri-Valley Janitorial Service entered into an agreement for City Facilities
Janitorial Services dated July 1, 1996; and
WHEREAS, said agreement was amended to adjust rates effective July 1, 1998; and
WHEREAS, the Civic Center Expansion project has increased the maintainable square footage
NOW, THEREFORE, THE PARTIES HERETO AGREE AS FOLLOWS:
Adjustment of Rates
The rate for the Civic Center set' forth in the amendment to the agreement shall be increased by $293
per month, for a total of $3,321.20 per month, effective July 1, 2000.
