HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 033-82 FireworkAdvMeasure RESOLUTION NO. 33-82 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CiTY OF DUBLIN CALLING A SPECIAL ELECTION FOR NOVEMBER 2, 1982 FOR THE PURPOSE OF VOTING ON AN ADVISORY MEASURE WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Dublin has, in response to a request by a number of citizens, agreed to call a special election for the purpose of submitting to the voters an advisory measure pertaining to the sale of fireworks in the City of Dublin: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Dublin, and pursuant to Sections 2500 and 2653 of the Elections Code, that a special election is hereby called, to take place on November 2, 1982, for the submission to the registered voters of the City of Dublin of the following advisory measure: "Should the City of Dublin enact an ordinance which would prohibit the sale of safe and sane fireworks within the city limits" BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, pursuant to Section 2654 of the Elections Code, notice of the date of the special election shall be published in a newspaper of general circulation not later than fifty (50) days prior to the date of said special election. PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 12th day of July, 1982, by the following vote: AYES: Burton, Hegarty, Jeffery, Moffatt and Mayor Snyder NOES: None ABSENT:None MAYOR r CIT~CLERK
