He has served Dublin for many years, most recently as co-chair of the successful Measure L campaign and as a Planning Commisioner and President of DPIE. Please read this forme. I understand the open seat on the council will be filled by appointment. 1 feel strongly that you should consider George Zika now that his term limit has been refreshed by the appropriate time away. George has the experience and fiscal expertise to really be helpful to the City of Dublin and the Council in these tough economic times. He really cares about Dublin and I have always found him to be level headed and fair. I felt George was an excellent Council member when he last served and if given the opportunity again, I am sure" he can hit the floor running". Mayor Lockhart and the City Council have done an amazing job with this City and it makes me proud to see how it has grown since my husband and I with our three young children arrived in Dublin in 1964. We now have some very important empty real estate in the older business section of town and we need experienced people to decide what is needed and what would be best for these important areas. I apologize that I can not deliver this message in person. However I am a 5th grade teacher and it appears that the flu bug has bit me so I am at home resting. I am strongly hoping you would consider selecting John Zukoski for the open city council spot. First off, voters in Dublin knew that Mr. Sbranti would easily win the mayor position. Therefore we knew that soon his city council spot would be opening up. In light of that situation 3,911 voters selected John as their city council member. Equally importantly John participated in the open voter forums and allowed the newspapers to interview him. Basically he was most recently vetted and clearly selected as the next in line by the voting public. Second point, John authors the Around Dublin Blog which creates an on-line Dublin community that focuses on Dublin issues . The Blog is also modern and on a smaller scale it is similar to the the recent change.gov that our executive office is utilizing to bring open communication to the voting public. Finally I have seen first hand John work with various personalities and perspectives to get issues resolved as a representative on the Dublin Terraces Home Owners associations. We have approached John on several occasions and he has either brought back results or offered context regarding the situation's change.
