FINANCIAL STATEMENT: There is no financial impact to the City. DESCRIPTION: As part of the City of Dublin's Capital Improvement Program (CIP) project known as the Dougherty Road Improvements -Houston Place to I-580, properties were acquired for the road widening. These properties along Dougherty Road were adjacent to Caltrans' right-of--way. The encroachment permit from Caltrans to work in Caltrans' right-of--way carried a condition which required that adjacent properties be deeded to Caltrans in order to maintain prohibited access rights to the Caltrans right-of--way. Caltrans' right-of--way extends from the I-580 ramps north on Dougherty Road to a point approximately 300 feet from Dublin Boulevard. The parcels to be deeded are portions of the Rental World property, Gil property (Gil's Auto Body, All Glass and the Smog Station), and Miracle Auto Paint. The deeding of these three parcels will fulfill the requirements for the completion of the Caltrans encroachment permit. RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends that the City Council adopt the resolution approving the transfer of three parcels of land to the State of California (Caltrans) as part of the widening of Dougherty Road at I-580. I G:~AGENDA STATEMENTS, MISC~agst Caltrans transfer parcels.doc ~~i~ RESOLUTION NO. - 08 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DUBLIN APPROVING THE TRANSFER OF THREE PARCELS OF LAND TO THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA (CALTRANS) AS PART OF THE WIDENING OF DOUGHTERY ROAD AT I-580 WHEREAS, the City of Dublin has undertaken a Capital Improvement Program (CIP) Project at the intersection of Dougherty Road and Dublin Boulevard to widen both streets to increase needed traffic capacity at this intersection; and WHEREAS, a portion of the Dougherty Road widening is adjacent to Caltrans' right-of--way at the I-580 on-and off-ramps; and WHEREAS, the City of Dublin was issued an encroachment permit by Caltrans to work in and make improvements to Caltrans' right-of--way; and WHEREAS, Caltrans has required that the City of Dublin transfer the deeds to Caltrans for the properties within the Dougherty Road widening that are adjacent to Caltrans right-of--way; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Dublin does hereby approve the transfer of these three parcels to Caltrans. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor is authorized to sign the deeds on behalf of the City of Dublin.
