A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF DUBLIN
ADOPTING A NEGATIVE DECLARATION FOR
PA 01-007, MONTESSORI PLUS EXPANSION, CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT
WHEREAS, the Applicant Rupa Narain, of Montessori Plus has requested approval of a
Conditional Use Permit to expand an existing Montessori school from 40 to 60 students within a 4,732
square foot tenant space located at 7234-40 San Ramon Road, Strouds Plaza.
WHEREAS, the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), together with State Guidelines
and City environmental regulations require that certain projects be reviewed for potential
environmental impacts and that environmental documents be prepared; and
WHEREAS, an Initial Study was conducted for this project with the finding that the proposed
project, could not have a significant effect on the environment; and
WHEREAS, a Negative Declaration has been prepared for this application and is on file in the
Dublin Planning Department; and
WHEREAS the Negative Declaration was distributed and properly noticed for a 20-day public
review period from on June 9, 2001 to June 29, 2001; and
WHEREAS the Planning Commission held a properly noticed public hearing on said application
on July 10, 2001; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission did hear and consider all said reports, recommendations
and testimony heminabove set forth and used their independent judgment to make a decision.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE Dublin City Council does hereby find
that:
A. The Montessori Plus project will not have a significant effect on the environment, based on a
review of the Initial Study and public testimony.
B. The Negative Declaration has been prepared in accordance with State and local environmental
laws and guideline regulations.
C. The Negative Declaration is complete and adequate.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT THE Dublin Planning
Commission does hereby adopt the Negative Declaration for PA 01-007, Montessori Plus expansion.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 10th day of July 2001.
