FINANCIAL STATEMENT:
$43,000 in monetary sponsorships was received
DESCRIPTION: The 2008 S1. Patrick's Day Festival was held on Saturday and
Sunday, March 15 & 16, at the Dublin Civic Plaza. This year's event highlighted the festival's 25th
Anniversary Celebration. For the second consecutive year, the festival was held at the Civic Plaza, with
the Firefighter's Pancake Breakfast moving back to Fire Station No. 16 and the Lion's Club Parade
moving back to the previous route used in 2006. Although the weather wasn't ideal, attendance was
consistent on both Saturday and Sunday though generally down from 2007 when the festival experienced
spring-like weather.
The Festival and Fun Run were well supported by local businesses. The City received $43,000 in
sponsorships for the weekend. The City also received overwhelming support from in-kind donations of
goods and services. A list of the sponsors is shown below.

In addition to the sponsors that supported the City's Festival and Fun Run, the City Council also wants
to recognize the local non-profit organizations that coordinated other events during the S1. Patrick's Day
Celebration, which are as follows:
. Green & White Gala, Dublin Sister City Association
. Community Pancake Breakfast, Alameda County Firefighters - Local 55
. S1. Patrick's Day Parade, Dublin Host Lion's Club
In recognition of their contributions, these sponsors and organizations will be presented with certificates
of appreciation and commemorative gifts for supporting Dublin's S1. Patrick's Day Celebration. Per
Government Code Section 37354, it is recommended that all gifts and contributions be formally
accepted by the City Council.
RECOMMENDATION:
