There IS $104,060 budgeted for thIS project m FIscal Year 2007-
2008 The project IS bemg broken Into two phases Phase I mcludes
the clean out and vIdeo recording of the condItIOn of the eXIsting
storm drams, budgeted at $92,510 Phase II Includes vIdeo
assessment and reporting on condItIOn whIch makes up the balance
of the CapItal Improvement Project (CIP) at $11,550
DESCRllPTION Several older sections of the CIty'S storm drain system are known to
have problems and should be repaired The CitYWIde Street Storm Drain CondItion Assessment project
consIsts of two components 1) a clean out of the storm drain system and vIdeo recording of the eXIsting
pIpe condItion, and 2) an assessment and report on the condition of the storm dram system The clean out
and vIdeo recordmg components are addressed by the authonzatIOn to SOlICIt bIds The assessment
portIon of the project WIll be conducted by a separate consultant and WIll generate a report that may
propose local repalfS to the storm drain system Any proposed repaIrs WIll create a new CIP project for
approval
The sectIOns of the CIty proposed for assessment m the first year of the project are determmed by age,
WIth the oldest sectIon of DublIn Inspected first (Attachment 1) It IS anticipated that approxImately
70,000 lInear feet of the storm drain system WIll be assessed m FY 2007-2008 Notices regardmg the
proposed assessment wIll be sent to any affected residents, bUSinesses and schools pnor to the begmmng
of work
Staff recommends that the City CouncIl authonze Staff to solICit bIds for Contract No 08-02, 2007-2008
