HomeMy WebLinkAbout3.2 NanoSnippitBot Proc A PROCLAMATION OF THE CITY COUNCIL CITY OF DUBLIN CALIFORNIA WHEREAS, Alejandra Dean, Nicole Rumore, Sara Savarani, and Christy Tadros, four 5th grade students~from Quarry Lane School in Dublin, california, who, combining their efforts and applying their brain power, took 1st place in the grade 4-6 category m the largest international science competition throughout the U.S. and .Canada; and WHEREAS, the Quarry Lane School'team spent five months brainstorming, researching and writin their winning ~oro~oosat for their idea cat[ed the "Nano Snippit-Bot", a reuotutionizing brain tumor remova[demce, and entered the 10t Annual Explora~/£s~on International Science Compefftion sponsored by Toshiba and administered by the NaffonaI Science Teachers ASsociation; a~d WHEREAS, after being selected one of the 24 Regional Winners in Alameda County, Alejandra, Christy, Nicole and Sara went the extra mile and applied their creatiuity to deuelop a website which explains theirpropoSal earning the team lstptace; and WHEREAS, to celebrate their win, each student on the team and team coach, Liz Paz-Rumore, will go to Washington, D.C. for the 10th Anniuersary ExploraVision Awards Weekend in June 2002.
