Acceptance of Gifts to City from St. Patrick's Day Sponsors

Recognize the sponsors and fonnally accept the contributions.
J<lNANCIAL STATEMENT:
$25,280 in monetary sponsorships was received.
DESCRIPTION: The 2005 St. Patrick's Celebration was held on Saturday and
Sunday, March 12 & 13, in downtown Dublin. Spring-like weather added considerably to the popularity
of the Festival with attendance estimated at 50,000 people, Registration for the Fun Run rcachcd ovcr
1,500 nmners this year. The Festival and Fun Run were well supported by local businesses. The City
received $25,280 in sponsorships for the weekend. In addition the City received overwhelming support in
the fonn of in-kind donations of goods and services. A list of the sponsors is shown below.

In addition to the sponsors that supported the City's Festival and Fun Run, the City Council also wants to
recognize the local non-profit organizations that coordinated other events during the St. Patrick's Day
Celebration, which are as folIows:
· Green & White Gala, Dublin Sister City Association
. Community Pancake Breakfast, Alameda County Firefighters - Local 55
. St. Patrick's Day Parade, Dublin Host Lion's Club
In recognition ofthcir contributions these sponsors and organizations will be presented with certificates of
appreciation and commemorative gifts for supporting Dublin's St. Patrick's Day Celebration. Per
Govermnent Code Section 37354, it is recommended that alI gifts and contributions be formalIy accepted
hy (he City Counci1.
RECOMMENDATION:
