The construction budget for this project is $27,540, of which an
estimated $4,000 will bc used for trimming landscaping away from
thc fcncc on a separate purchase order. The cost of this project is to
be paid by Dougherty Road Landscape Maintenance Assessment
District reserve funds.
DESCRIPTION: This project would repaint the existing wrought iron fencing along
Fall Creek Road in the Dougherty Assessment District.

Based on preliminary estimates for this work, the reserve funds available in this assessment district were
felt to be sufficient to pay thc cost of painting approximately half of the fencing that runs along the
generally westerly sides of Fall Creek Road and Wildwood Road. Based on the condition of cach section
of fencing, Staff recommended giving priority to the Fall Creek Road fence. Since the low bid is
considerably Icss than the budget, Staffrecommends working with Bella Painting to determine whether it
is feasible to paint some or all of the Wildwood Road fence as well. A cost per lineal foot of fcncing for
extra work was provided as a separate bid item.
Preparatory landscape trimming, which is a part of the abovementioned construction budget, is proposed
to be pcrformed by a landscape contractor under a separate purchasc order. If the length of fence to bc
painted is increased, the cost oflandscape trimming will increase proportionately.
Staff has reviewed the bid proposals and checked with references, and recommends that the City Council
adopt the resolution awarding Contract 05-11 to Bella Painting.

OF THE CITY OF DUBLIN

AWARDING CONTRACT 05-11
DOUGHERTY ASSESSMENT DISTRICT FENCE PAINTING
TO BELLA PAINTING
WHEREAS, the City of Dublin did, on October 4, 2005, publicly open, examine, and dcclare all
sealed bids for doing the work described in the approved Plans, Specifications, and Modifications for
Contract 05-11, Dougherty Assessment District Fencc Painting, authorized by the City Council on
September 20, 2005, which Plans, Specifications, and Modifications are hereby expressly referred to for a
description of said work and for all particulars relative to the proceedings under the request for bids; and
WHEREAS, said bids were submitted to the Director of PubJic Works, who has recommended
that the bid hereinafter mentioned is the lowest and best bid for doing said work;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of DubJin does
hereby award City of Dublin Contract 05-11, Dougherty Assessment District Fence Painting, to the lowest
rcsponsible bidder therefor, to wit, Bella Painting, with a bid of Fourteen Thousand Four Hundred Dollars
($14,400) for the lump sum project work and Seven Dollars ($7.00) per lineal foot for extra work, the
particulars of which bid are on file in the Office of the Director of Public Works.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor is authorized to execute the agreement.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 18th day of October, 2005.
