Thc construction budget for this project is $23,000, to be paid from
the General Fund.
DESCRIPTION: The Civic Center Water Intrusion and Remediation Project Report
prepared during the 2003-2004 fiscal year included a recommcndation to remove vines and other plant
material from the walls of thc building and from the trellises in the courtyard and entrances to the
building. The plant material was removed per the recommendation. However, as a result, thc trellises and
concrete columns need to be cleaned and painted.
This project would clean and paint four trellis structures, two of which are in the courtyard, one at the
building entrance opposite the clock tower, and the other at the loading dock area. The work includes
cleaning and sealing the concrete co 1 umns that support the trellises, and also repainting stair rails at the
clock tower entrance and safety railings at the loading dock.
A total of four bids were received. Staff has reviewed the bid proposals and checked with references, and
recommends that the City Council adopt the resolution awarding Contract 05-12, Civic Center Trellis
Painting, to Bella Painting.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF DUBLIN

AWARDING CONTRACT 05-12
CIVIC CENTER TRELLIS PAINTING
TO BELLA PAINTING
WHEREAS, the City of Dublin did, on October 4, 2005, publicly open, examine, and declare all
sealed bids for doing the work described in the approved Plans, Specifications, and Modifications for
Contract 05-12, Civic Center Trellis Painting, authorized by the City Council on September 20, 2005,
which Plans, Specifications, and Modifications are hereby expressly referred to for a description of said
work and for all particulars relative to the proceedings under the request for bids; and
WHEREAS, said bids were submitted to the Director of Public Works, who has recommended
that the bid hereinafter mentioned is the lowest and best bid for doing said work;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Dublin does
hereby award City of Dublin Contract 05-12, Civic Center Tre1lis Painting, to the lowest responsible
bidder therefor, to wit, Bella Painting, with a bid of Ten Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($10,500), the
particulars of which bid are on file in the Office of the Director of Public Works.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor is authorized to execute the agreement.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 18th day of October, 2005.
