Authorize the solicitation of bids for Dougherty Assessment District
Fence Painting.
FINANCIAL STATEMENT:
The construction budget for this project, including preparatory
landscape trimming, is $27,540. The cost of the project is to be paid
by the Dougherty Assessment District, Fund 713.
DESCRIPTION: This project would repaint the existing wrought iron fencing along
Fall Creek Road in the Dougherty Assessment District.
At the present time, the reserve funds available in this assessment district are sufficient to pay the cost of
painting approximately half of the fencing that runs along the generally westerly side of Fall Creek Road
and Wildwood Road. Staffhas inspected the fencing and determined that the fence along Fall Creek Road
needs repainting to a greater degree than the fence along Wildwood Road. Therefore, it is proposed to
paint only the Fall Creek Road fence with this project. If the bids come in lower than expected, it may be
possible to paint additional areas as the budget allows.
Preparatory landscape trimming, which is a part of the abovementioned construction budget, is proposed
to be performed by a landscape contractor under a separate purchase order.
Staff recommends that the City Council authorize the solicitation of bids for Dougherty Assessment
District Fence Painting.
