RECOMMENDATION~
FINANCIAL STATEMENT:
Authorize the solicitation of bids for Civic Center Trellis Painting.
The construction budget for this project is $23,000. The cost will be
paid by thc General Fund.
DESCRIPTION: The Civic Center water intrusion and remediation project and
associated report prepared during the 2003-2004 fiscal year included a recommendation to remove vines
and other plant material from the walls of the building and from the trellises in the courtyard and
entrances to the building. The plant matcrial was removed; consequently, the trellises and concrete
columns need to be cleaned and painted.
This project would clean and paint four trellis structures, two of which are in the courtyard, one at the
building entrance opposite the clock tower, and the other at the loading dock area. The work includes
cleaning and sealing the concrete columns that support the trellises, and also repainting stair rails at the
clock towcr entrancc and safety railings at the loading dock.
Staff recommends that the City Council authorize the solicitation of bids for Civic Center Trellis Painting.
