""'" "-my FINANCIAL STATEMENT: 2005-2006 Street Maintenance Operating Budget for Striping: $ 44,475.00 From Gas Tax (206) Low Bid: $133,425.00 (3 years) · NOTE: Staff will order striping work during the year as needed and stay within the FY 2005-2006 budget. The budgets approved for FY 2006-2007 and FY 2007-2008 will establish the actual amounts of work to be done in the second and third year of this contract. DESCRIPTION: In an effort to save annual bidding costs arid provide continuity of work, the City's Striping and Marking Contract is for a three. year term. The operating budget for striping and marking includes curb painting and emergency work performed by MCE, as well as this contract. As the City's current two-year Striping and Marking Contract is to expire on June 30, 2005, Staff solicited bids for a new three-year term under Contract No. 05-06. The scope of work for this contract includes replacing existing pavement striping and marking. The City received two bids (see Attachment 2) for this contract. The low bidder is Chrisp Company with a bid of $133,425.00 for the three-year contract. This contract basically establishes unit prices for various striping bid items. Individual work orders will be priced based on these unit prices. Staff has reviewed the low bidder's proposal and recommends that the City Council adopt the resolution awarding Contract No. 05-06 to the Chrisp Company. · ~ _ _ _ ~ w ~ . _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ ~ ~ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ M _ ~ . _ _ _ _ _ ~ _ _ _ ø _ _ _ _ _ _ _ M ~ - - p - - - - - - - - COPIES TO: Bidders \q} ITEM NO.--4.Z g;\mntcprojlstriping'agstawrd.doc e e e 1l5b"2- RESOLUTION NO. - 05 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DUBLIN ********* AWARDING CONTRACT NO. 05-06, STRIPING AND MARKING CONTRACT TO CHRISP COMPANY WHEREAS, the City of Dublin did on May 24, 2005, publicly open, examine, and declare all scaled bids for doing the work described in the approved Plans, Specifications, and Modifications for Contract No. 05-06, Striping and Marking Contract, which Plans, Specifications, and Modifications are hereby expressly referred to for a description of said work and for all particulars relative to the proceedings under the request for bids; and WHEREAS, said bids were submitted to the City Engineer, who has reviewed the bids to determine the ]owest bid which was responsive to the requirements of the bid documents; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Cout)cil of the City of Dublin does hereby award Contract No, 05-06 to the lowest responsible bidder therefor, to wit, Chrisp Company, at a bid of One Hundred Thirty Three Thousand, Four Hundred Twenty-Five Dollars and No Cents ($133,425.00), which bid shall cover the contract term ofthree years, the particulars of which bid are on file in the office of the Public Works Director. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor is authorized to execute the agreement. PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 21st day ofJune, 2005.
