HomeMy WebLinkAbout8.4 ShannonCtrReconstucton AGENDA STATEMENT CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE: June 20, 2005 CITY CLERK File # O[fl][O]DJ-ß][Q] \ \ 0-'30 SUBJECT: Architect Selection - Shannon Community Center Reconstruction Report By: Herma Lichtenstein, Parks & FaciUties Development Manager ATTACHMENTS: None RECOMMENDATlON~ .~ Determine make-up of Architect Selection Committee FINANCIAL STATEMENT: Estimated Project Cost and Funding Public Facility Fee Fund General Fund Total Estimated Cost $3,306,720 $5,336.280 $8,643,000 DESCRIPTION: At the April 12, 2005 special joint meeting of the Duhlin City Council and Parks and Community Services Commission, the Council directed Staff to proceed with reconstruction of a 19,760 SF Sharmon Community Center with an enlarged social hal1. StalT was also directed to commence with the design process. Subsequently Staff circulated a Request for Proposals to selected architectural firms with a due date of June IS, 2005. Staff proposes an architect selection committee compriscd of the following City Staff: Assistant City Manager; Parks & Community Services Director; Parks & Facilities Development Manager; and Parks & Community Services Manager. Additionally Staff would like City Council dircction on whether a rcpresentative from the Parks and Community Services Commission and City Council should serve on the selection committee. It is anticipatcd that interviews will be held the week of Junc 27, 2005 and the final sclection will be before the City Council on August 2, 2005.
