The intent of the survey was to provide justification in producing future housing programs, crafting programs listed on the City Council's Goals and Ohjectives and eliminating programs not viewed as needed by the residents and businesses surveyed. The need to obtain survey information was viewed as important since the Housing Element listed affordable housing efforts that the City of Dublin would consider in the future. Additionally from the information obtained in a detailed and professionally conducted survey the City Staff can make recommendations to the City Council on what types ofpro.\,'rams are viewed as needed by those who would use them and would also provide justification in complying with the current Housing Element or in determining that a given program or product is not necessary in the City of Dublin. The two attachments with this Staff Report are fue draft survey instruments created by Godbe Research to conduct two phone surveys. The first phone survey would be to businesses in Dublin that have at least one employee, this list has been created by using Business License intOrmation. The second phone survey would be to randomly selected residents in Dublin. RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends that the City Council receive the Staff Report and provide any comments or suggestions to the draft questionnaires, prior to Godbe Research t1nalizing the two questionnaires. --------------~----------~~~~----~---------------~~---------------------------------~------------~-------------------------~--- O:\HOUSING\STFFRPTS\CCSR Hsg Needs Draft qucgtion¡;>.doc \ ~ \ COPIES TO: Consultants In House Distribution ITEM NO. 7.Z Itt~D Godbe Research April 2005 DRAFT Dublin Housing Needs Survey (Residential) Hello, my name is and I'm calling on behalf of GRA, a public opinion research firm.
