RECOGNIZING ALBERT YBARRA FOR ACTS OF HEROISM
lVHEREAS, congratulations and citations are in order for seven year Dublin reside1lt Albert Ybarra for his valiant
participation in the life-saving effiJ1ts of three drowning victims from the fniJd waters of the San Francisco Bqy; and
WHEREAS, on September 7, 2004, while driving on the San j\1ateo Blidge, Albert Ybanu came upon an accident
scene in which two young brrys had been ejected from their (Iehicle and, along with an adult male attempting to save them,
were struggling in the stlvng cttn-e1lts of the San Francisco Bqy; and
WHEREAS, fU1ther trageqy was avoided when Alben Ybarra, without hesitation or thought for personal safety; leaped
into the Bqy from the San l\ifateo Bn"dge to help pull the adult and one of the )'OUltg brrys to safety; and
lVHEREAS, this courageous and compassionate deed in averting what could have been a greater tragic loss to familY,
friends, and communi!;' was an ad of heroism which deserves .rpedal recognition l?Y the got'erning bocfy if this Clry.
NOlV; THEREFORE, BE IT RESOL VEll that the Ci!J1 Council of the City of Dublin, on beha!f oj the
citizem of this community, extends sincere admiration, respect and appruiation to Albert Ybanu for his se!fless and -
valiant ejforts in the saving of two very valuable lives, and congratulate him for exemplifying the definition of a true hero.
