DESCRIPTION: Staff has completed the plans, specifications and estimates required to carry out the construction of the Village Parkway Sidewalk Widening and Street Lighting Improvements. The proposed capital project would accomplish the following: · Widen existing 5-foot sidewalk to 8 feet from Dublin Boulevard to Amador Valley Boulevard. · Install decorative street lighting spaced approximately 100 feet on center along the new sidewalk with the upper lanterns and pedestrian luminaries lighted with 100 watt and 70-watt light bulbs respectively. · Remove existing cobra head lighting in the median. · Plant street trees in unoccupied tree wells on the new sidewalk. The construction period is estimated at approximately 65 working days. The work has been designed to minimize impacts on businesses along Village Parkway during construction by breaking it down to four work areas to limit the extent of construction impacts as much as possible. Demolition and paving work in the driveway areas will be performed in the night time and vehicular access to the businesses will be preserved during the day time hours.
