FINANCIAL STATEMENT: None
DESCRIPTION: The Alameda County Mosquito Abatement District represents 55
agencies in the State of California.
The City has received a letter from John R. Rusmisel, District Manager, advising that Dr. Harvey
Scudder's term of office expired January 2, 2004.
Mayor Lockhart requests that the City Council confirm the appointment of Jim Kohnen as the City of
Dublin's appointment to the Alameda County Mosquito Abatement District Board for a term ending
January 2, 2006.
Staff recommends that the City Council adopt the attached Resolution making an appointment to the
Alameda County Mosquito Abatement District Board of Trustees and direct the City Clerk to forward a
certified copy of the Resolution to the District.

The term of office of Dr. Harvey Scudder, as trustee of this District, expires January 2,
2004. We respectfully request an appointment be made prior to the expiration date for
th'e two-year term of trustee of this District representing the City of Dublin.
Dr. Harvey Scudder has diligently served on our Board since August 2, 1983. His
professional expertise in the fields of entomology and public health is of great value to
the District.
We shall appreciate your sending us a certified copy of your resolution appointing your
trustee to our Board for the term ending January 2, 2006.

RESOLUTION NO. - 04
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF DUBLIN
MAKING AN APPOINTMENT TO THE
ALAMEDA COUNTY MOSQUITO ABATEMENT DISTRICT
BOARD OF TRUSTEES
WHEREAS, the City of Dublin is authorized to appoint one member of the Board of Trustees of
the Alameda County Mosquito Abatement District; and
WHEREAS, the term for the current appointee expired on January 2, 2004; and
WHEREAS, the term of this appointment shall be through January 2, 2006; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Dublin City Council hereby appoints Jim
Kohnen, as Board of Trustee representing the City of Dublin on the Mosquito Abatement District.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk shall forward a ccn~ified copy of this
Resolution to the Alameda County Mosquito Abatement District.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 6th day of January, 2004.
