Please step to the podium and clearly state your name for the record. COMMENTS SHOULD NOT EXCEED THREE (3) MINUTES. In accordance with State Law, no action or discussion may take place on any item not appearing on the posted agenda. The Committee may respond to statements made or questions asked, or may request Staff to report back at a future meeting concerning the matter. Any member of the public may contact the Recording Secretary’s Office related to the proper procedure to place an item on a future Senior Center Advisory Committee agenda. The exceptions under which the Committee MAY discuss and/or take action on items not appearing on the agenda are contained in Government Code Section 54954.2(b)(1)(2)(3). 3.CONSENT CALENDAR Consent Calendar items are typically non-controversial in nature and are considered for approval by the Senior Center Advisory Committee with one single action. Members of the audience, Staff or the Senior Center Advisory Committee who would like an item removed from the Consent Calendar for purposes of public input may request the Chair to remove the item. 3.1 Approval of the October 7, 2021 Senior Center Advisory Committee Regular Meeting Minutes The Committee will consider approval of the minutes of the October 7, 2021 Senior Center Advisory Committee Regular Meeting. STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Approve the minutes of the October 7, 2021 Senior Center Advisory Committee Regular Meeting. December 02, 2021 Dublin Senior Center Advisory Committee Agenda 1 Staff Report Attachment 1 -Minutes of the October 7, 2021 Dublin Senior Center Advisory Committee Regular Meeting 4.UNFINISHED BUSINESS 5.NEW BUSINESS 5.1 2021 Dublin Senior Center Annual Report The Committee will receive a presentation on classes, activities, events, and other programs that took place at the Dublin Senior Center during the 2021 calendar year. STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Receive the presentation. Staff Report 5.2 Senior Center Advisory Committee Dublin Benefit Concert The Committee will consider participating in the 2022 Dublin Benefit Concert and appoint members to an Ad- Hoc Committee. STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Consider participating in the 2022 Dublin Benefit Concert in conjunction with the Dublin Youth Advisory Committee. If participating, appoint members to serve on the Dublin Benefit Concert Ad-Hoc Committee. New Business 5.1 Senior Center Holiday Boutique The Committee received a report from Staff on the Dublin Senior Center Holiday Boutique. 6. Other BusinessCommittee ChairChristine Sevier complimented staff on the success of the Dublin Senior Info Fair that was held on Saturday, October 2, 2021.Alternate Member Samir Qureshi also complimented staff on the success of the Dublin Senior Info fair. Recreation Coordinator Henry Siu gave an update on the activities and programs happening at the Dublin Senior Center. Parks and Community Services Commissioner Joe Washington introduced himself and gave an update from the Parks and Community Services Commission. 7. STAFF RECOMMENDATION:Receive the presentation. FINANCIAL IMPACT:None. DESCRIPTION: The Dublin Senior Center is available to adults 50 and better. The Senior Center provides a place to foster a lifestyle of possibilities, build rewarding friendships, and take part in intriguing activities. The Senior Center allows patrons to feel active and youthful and give them a sense of belonging when they participate in the various activities and events. Staff will provide the Committee with a presentation which includes information and statistics on programs, special events, activities, attendance, volunteer efforts, building improvements, and additional facility usage that took place at the Dublin Senior Center in 2021. STAFF RECOMMENDATION:Consider participating in the 2022 Dublin Benefit Concert in conjunction with the Dublin Youth Advisory Committee. If participating, appoint members to serve on the Dublin Benefit Concert Ad-Hoc Committee. FINANCIAL IMPACT:None. DESCRIPTION:The 2022 Dublin Benefit Concert is scheduled to take place at the first Dublin Farmer’s Market of the season on April 7, 2022. Acts will include Dublin-based youth and senior organizations/clubs and programs that provide performing arts, multicultural awareness, or other youth-related activities. The event benefits the Dublin Fee Assistance Program. If the Dublin Senior Advisory Committee chooses to participate, the Senior Center Advisory Committee shall appoint no more than two members to join the 2022 Dublin Benefit Concert Ad-Hoc Committee. The appointed Committee members will provide updates to the Senior Advisory Committee at upcoming regular and special meetings. The Ad-Hoc Committee shall meet January 12, February 9, and March 9 to complete the following objectives: Solicit youth and senior performers from Dublin High School, Cottonwood, Fallon and Wells middle schools, City contract youth and senior instructors and participants, Dublin cultural 8 Page 2 of 2 arts businesses and other venues where youth and senior artists perform starting on February 1, 2022. Review applications between March 1-7, 2022 and select performers by March 10, 2022. Assist with creating an event flyer for Staff review by March 12, 2022, and advertise in the Spring Recreation Activity Guide, City website, City newsflash, and distributed starting March 15, 2022. Attend the 2022 Dublin Benefit Concert on April 7, 2022 at the Farmer’s Market in Emerald Glen Park.
