The Planning Commission may respond to statements made or questions asked, or may request Staff to report back at a future meeting concerning the matter. Any member of the public may contact the Recording Secretary's Office related to the proper procedure to place an item on a future Planning Commission agenda. The exceptions under which the Planning Commission MAY discuss and/or take action on items not appearing on the agenda are contained in Government Code Section 54954.2(b)(1)(2)(3). 3. STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Minutes of the January 23, 2018 Planning Commission Meeting. 4. WRITTEN COMMUNICATION - NONE. 5. PUBLIC HEARING - NONE. 5.1. PUBLIC HEARING: Safari Kid Daycare Center—Site Development Review, Conditional Use Permit and Minor Use Permit (PLPA-2017-00050) The Planning Commission will consider a request by the applicant, Meridian, for approval of a Site Development Review Permit, Conditional Use Permit and Minor Use Permit to build a new daycare facility and community room on the vacant 2.1- February 13, 2018 Dublin Planning Commission Agenda Page 1 of 3 acre Semi-Public parcel in Positano. The proposed project includes construction of a 14,936 square foot building comprised of a 10,667 square foot childcare center to be operated by Safari Kid and a 4,269 square foot multipurpose room that will be open for rent to the community, and related site improvements including an outdoor play area for the childcare center, shared parking for both uses, and a minor amendment to the Planned Development Zoning to establish development standards. STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Disclose ex-parte contacts, conduct the public hearing, deliberate and adopt the following Resolutions: a) Approving a Conditional Use Permit for a minor amendment to the Planned Development Zoning Stage 2 Development Plan (Ordinance No. 33-05) for the site designated as Semi-Public in Positano; b) Approving a Site Development Review for a 14,869 square foot building comprised of a 10,667 square foot childcare center and 4,269 square foot community center; and c) Approving a Minor Use Permit for shared parking between the childcare center and community center. . SB 343 - Item 5.1 Revised Project Plans . SB 343 - Item 5.1 Revised Resolutions - Attachment 1, Attachment 2 and Attachment 3 5.2. PUBLIC HEARING: Zeiss Innovation Center - Planned Development Rezone with a related Stage 1 and Stage 2 Development Plan and Site Development Review Permit (PLPA-2017-00025) The Planning Commission will consider and make a recommendation to the City Council regarding the Zeiss Innovation Center project. The proposed project consists of a 433,090 square foot research and development campus comprised of two buildings, a parking structure, and associated site, frontage, and landscape improvements to be built in two phases. Requested land use approvals include a Planned Development Rezone with a related Stage 1 and Stage 2 Development Plan for the entire 11.36 acre site, and a Site Development Review Permit to construct Phase 1. The initial phase includes a 208,650 square foot research and development building, surface parking and related site improvements. A Supplemental Mitigated Negative Declaration was prepared for the project under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Disclose ex-parte contacts, conduct the public hearing, deliberate and adopt the following Resolutions: a) Recommending that the City Council adopt a Resolution adopting a Supplemental Mitigated Negative Declaration for the Zeiss Innovation Center project; b) Recommending that the City Council Adopt an Ordinance amending the Zoning Map and approving a Planned Development Zoning District with a related Stage 1 and Stage 2 Development Plan for the Zeiss Innovation Center project; and c) Recommending that the City Council adopt a Resolution approving a Site Development Review Permit for Phase 1 of the Zeiss Innovation Center project. .
