DESCRIPTION :
On May 12 , 1986 , the City Council adopted new sign regulations .
A program for enforcement of these regulations was authorized in
the 1986-87 budget .
On October 13 , 1986, Resolution 111-86 relating to the timely
removal of illegal signs was adopted . At the time of adoption of
that resolution the City Council indicated that all notices to
remove illegal signs should be sent out at one time.
The initial phase of the program is essentially complete. All
properties have been surveyed and all permit records have been
reviewed as of April 6 , 1987 . A total of 165 letters have been
prepared requesting removal of illegal signs . It is anticipated
that this phase of the program will be completed and 210 notices
will be mailed on or about April 30 , 1987 .

A.RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF DUBLIN

ESTABLISHING A SCHEDULE FOR TIMELY REMOVAL OF ILLEGAL SIGNS
WHEREAS, the City Council, at its regularly scheduled meeting of May
12, 1986, adopted a Sign Ordinance with the intent to provide effective and
attractive identification; and
WHEREAS, said Ordinance went into effect on June 11, 1986; and
WHEREAS, said Ordinance provides, in part, that illegal signs are
subject to summary removal; and
WHEREAS, Staff has undertaken a Citywide sign survey as part of the
implementation of said Ordinance; and
WHEREAS, said survey has begun to identify some signs which are
illegal;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT the City Council establishes the
following schedule for the timely removal of illegal signs:
REMOVAL TIME
•
A. For illegal signs that were illegal Immediately; within
when originally installed, or which 1 day to 1 month,
- are prohibited (such as A-frame - depending on

B. For illegal wall signs that were Within 1 to 3 months,

Removal time shall start from the time of mailing notification by
certified mail to the owner of the sign, or the property owner if the owner of
the sign cannot be determined.
