FINANCIAL IMPACT: None F RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends that the Senior Center Advisory Committee receive the presentation. DESCRIPTION: Dublin Senior Center Staff, gxeeters and volunteers are txained how to access public transportation � informarion to give to the patrons on a case-by-case basis. The Wheels Bus Book, the Wheels Para-taxi k Program Pamphlet and application to parricipate in the Dia1-a-Ride Program are available when patrons ` express a desire to learn about public transportation. Jan Cornish, of the Livermore Amador Valley Transportation Authority (LAVTA) will make a presentarion on transportation options in Dublin. The Livermore Amador Valley Transit Authority LAVTA was ; established in May 1985 when the Cities of Dublin, Livermore, Pleasanton and Alameda County executed a ` Joint Powers Agreement that created the independent authoriry. LAVTA's charter mission is to develop and operate local and intercity public transportation in the Tri-Valley operating under the brand name, Wheels. "; This program provides fixed-route bus services in the cities of Dublin, Livermore, Pleasanton and ' unincorporated portions of Alameda Counry. Jan is the Assistant Dial-A-Ride Coordinator. She offers a Wheels Travel Training Program at the Dublin Senior Center quarterly. She provides hands-on travel training tips and trips on how to enjoy the Wheels Fixed Route System as well as how to transfer to other public transit authorities, such as Alameda-Contra Costa Transit District (AC Transit),Altamont Corridox Express (ACE), Bay Area Rapid Transit (BAR'I�, and � the Counry Connecrion (serving Contra Costa County).
