Call to Order
Chairperson Ito called the meeting to order at 9:36 AM.

A QUORUM WAS NOT PRESENT TO APPROVE THE MARCH 2O15 MINUTES. CM BRIZEE WAS ABSENT
FROM THE MARCH MEETING.

7.1 2015 Winter Quarterly Report
Staff presented an overview of the 2015 Winter Quarterly Report. The Senior Center experienced a 6%
increase in programs and activities attendance and a 7% increase in total Senior Center attendance. The
report reflects continued growth in programs and attendance.
7.2 Annual Volunteer Recognition Luncheon Report
The Luncheon will be held April 30, 2015, and invitations were mailed to over 150 volunteers. Checkers
Catering will provide food and beverages for the event. Each volunteer wili receive a certificate of

appreciation, a special commemorative gift and this year the Senior Center Foundation will be providing
a memento to each of the volunteers. Live entertainment will be provided.
CM Mack asked how the Senior Center is recruiting new volunteers. Staff stated the Senior Center uses
the online programs Volunteer Match and Linkedln as well as other outreach efforts.
CM Brizee suggested hosting animal adoption day at the Senior Center. Staff noted animal adoption has
been offered at special events in the past. Staff will contact Petco to gauge their interest in hosting an
animal adoption event at a Senior Center special event.
Other Business
Commissioner Thalblum reported on the Parks and Community Services Commission meeting.
Carol McGeary of the Senior Center Foundation mentioned the Foundation had been discussing the
marquee. They will be considering a contribution to the cost of the marquee. The Holiday Craft Boutique
applications have been sent out to previous participants. The boutique is scheduled for November 14,
2015.
The Youth Fee Assistance Benefit Concert will be held April 12, 2015 at 2:00 PM with a suggested
donation of$6. The activity is being promoted at the high schools and on the City website.
Staff reported that the St. Patrick's Day Festival was a great success. Staff gave an overview of the
upcoming activities for spring and summer.
Staff provided a brief overview of what is planned for the Emerald Glen Recreation and Aquatic Complex
and answered questions.
