DESCRIPTION: Staff will update the Youth Advisory Committee Members on
upcoming teen special events.
The dates for the teen events have been carefully chosen to not conflict with Dublin High School known
sporting events, special events or student testing. The following list is a schedule of the upcoming teen
special events.
Teen Band Night -Teen Band Night will be held on March 2, 2012 from 7:00 to 10:00 PM at the
Shannon Community Center. Three local teen bands "Too Many", "Waiting for Tom" and "The Lead"
are scheduled to perform. Refreshments such as water, soda, candy, and chips will be sold by the Youth
Advisory Committee to benefit the Youth Fee Assistance Program. The admission cost for Teen Band
Night is $6.00 per person.
Tri-Valley Teen Job Fair -The Teen Job Fair will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2012, from 1:00 to
4:00 PM at the Dublin Senior Center. Attendees will be able to participate in employment workshops,
mock interviews, panel discussions, with both professionals and trade workers, and meet various
employers. This is a free admission event. Free pizza and drinks will also be available for participants of
the Teen Job Fair. The Tri-Valley Teen Job Fair is a partnership with the Dublin/San Ramon Women's
Club and the Cities of Dublin, San Ramon, and Pleasanton.
2"d Annual All-America City Car Show -The All America City Car Show will be held Saturday, April
2l , 2012 at the Heritage Park & Museums from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. This intergenerational event is
sponsored by the Dublin Youth and Senior Advisory Committees and the Dublin Senior Foundation. Net
proceeds from the car entry fees will benefit the Youth Fee Assistance Program and the Dublin Senior
foundation. Other fundraising opportunities may include a raffle, spinning wheel and t-shirt sales. This

event will feature custom cars and motorcycles. Admission to this event is free; however, there will be a
$20 fee to enter a vehicle in the car show.
Teen Summer Kick-Off Concert -The Teen Summer "Kick-Off ' Concert is scheduled to be held on
Saturday, May 26, 2012 from 5:30-7:30 PM at the Heritage Park and Museums. The Summer Teen Kick
Off event will feature an outdoor concert performed by a local up-and-coming artist which will be
determined by the Youth Advisory Committee. Admission to the concert is free. Sponsorship
opportunities are available. The Youth Advisory Committee will sell water, soda, candy, and chips with
proceeds to benefit the Youth Fee Assistance Program.
Improv in the Barn -Improv in the Barn will be held on Friday, June 8, 2012 from 7:30 to 10:00 PM at
the Heritage Park & Museums and will provide the opportunity for teens to actively participate in an
improvisational sketch comedy. "Creatures of Impulse" a local Teen Improv Team, will facilitate an
evening full of laughter and comedy. The admission cost is $6.00 per participant, Youth Advisory
Committee Members are encouraged to provide leadership and volunteer in the implementation of these
events. All Youth Advisory Committee Members are asked to volunteer on the date of the events.
RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends that the Youth Advisory Committee receive the
report.
