HomeMy WebLinkAbout8.2 Committee Appointments OF Dp~~y 82 AGENDA STATEMENT PARKS AND COMMUNITY SERVICES COMMISSION MEETING DATE: January 11, 2010 SUBJECT: Committee Appointments Report by Diane Lowart, Parks & Community Services Director ATTACHMENTS: None RECOMMENDATION: Review the current committee appointments and make changes and/or appointments to the various committees as deemed necessary. FINANCIAL STATEMENT: None DESCRIPTION: There are committees that require the representation of a member of the Parks and Community Services Commission. As per the Bylaws and Rules of Procedure for the Commission, the Commission or the Chairperson, upon direction of the Commission, may appoint several of its members, but fewer than a quorum, to serve as a Committee. A summary of the various committees and the current representatives and alternates are shown below. Senior Center Advisory Committee An ongoing committee which advises the Parks and Community Services Commission, the City Council, and Staff on matters pertaining to the operation of the Senior Center. The Commission representative will serve as a liaison between the Committee and the Commission. The Senior Center Advisory Committee meets the first Thursday of the month at 9:00 a.m. at the Dublin Senior Center. Representative: Richard Guarienti Alternate: Steve Jones Youth AdvisorxCommittee An ongoing committee which advises the Parks and Community Services Commission, the City Council and the Staff on youth services and programming. The Commission representative will serve as a liaison between the Committee and the Commission. The Youth Advisory Committee meets the fourth Wednesday of the month at 7:00 p.m. at the Dublin Civic Center. Representative: Annie Arcuri Alternate: Steve Jones COPIES TO: ITEM NO.: 8.2 G:\PARKS COMMISSIOMAGNDSTMT\2010U-11 Item 8.2 Committee Appointments.doc Youth Sports Liaison Committee An ongoing committee whose purpose is to maintain open lines of communication with local youth sports groups (Dublin Little League, Dublin United Soccer League, Dublin Youth Football and St. Raymond's CYO Basketball). Meetings are typically held quarterly. Representative: Alan Elias Alternate: Anthony Totaro Special Events Logistics Committee An ongoing committee whose purpose is to provide input to the City on the planning, marketing, operation and evaluation of the special events weekend activities such as St. Patrick's Day and Day on the Glen. Committee meetings are twice per year. Representative: Angela Muetterties Alternate: Richard Guarienti RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends that the Parks and Community Services Commission review the current committee appointments and make changes and/or appointments to the various committees as deemed necessary. 2 of 2
